SCP: World of secret
Design Overview
Role : Level Designer / Gameplay Programmer
Description : SCP: World of Secret is a game that I made in Unity during my free time. It's a game I started in 2021 though throughout my year of study at Campus ADN I've kept on updating and making better with what I had learned there.
In this game, I created the layout for the current level that can be played. I'm also responsible for all the scripts used in it. The visual assets of the game were either bought on the Unity Store or from other SCP games.
The game design of it was mostly inspired by the previously made game SCP: Containment Breach
The narrative of the game is made by me but take place in the SCP universe which is a creative commons license.

The Layout

Guidance

Clear and simple navigation.

Introduction to the colored door to help the player make associations.

Code on the door and wall showing the level the player is in. (Currently only one)

Provide a more relaxed start to the player to give him a false 'safe' feeling before introducing him to the horror of the game.

Relying on the AI roaming the level after its introduction as the provider of dread and not scripted event.
Obstacle
-
Introduction to the first enemy mid-level with a quick teach of his capacity.

Using lights in the overly dark area to guide the player but also point to important items or narrative elements.

Introduction to the electric gate with a teache to then guide the player to deactivate them.

The level changes ever so slightly at random intervals. Always transporting the player safety though with new possible obstacles.
The objectives

Find information about the site and what is happening there.
-
Avoid the different hostile entities that have escaped containment at the site.
-
Save the site and help the Foundation / Survive and escape.
